The Story

I'm a serial hobbyist. I want to try everything and see if it's fun. For my birthday every year, I buy myself a class trying something I've never done before. Back in 2018, that thing was laser cutting and engraving! I scoured Eventbrite for local classes, and found a makerspace that was offering a class to get certified to use their laser. As soon as I saw the examples of lasercut projects, I knew this just leveled up my craft game x100000. 

I signed up to join the makerspace the next day, and spent the next several weekends testing out materials and projects in the CO2 laser in the basement. I started a small Etsy shop doing laser-engraved handwritten family recipes on cutting boards and kept myself super busy before Christmas!

Not all of my new hobbies stick, but lasers has been the big winner in my life. I now work full-time at a makerspace, and teach laser classes there! I have a small diode laser and a small fiber laser at home so I can do a variety of projects, plus the two industrial CO2 lasers at the makerspace.
